A friend recommended I try Tableau Software (www.tableausoftware.com) and it is fantastic for a free tool. You can create any kind of heat maps you want, and save the output to the web, PDFs, etc.

This method is confusing for me. There are several free tools available online which can be used for generating heatmap easily. Those options are easy and simple to work with.
